A random topic name for a random topic. But seriously, I've never been that much interested in the news and I probably never will, however, some stuff that's broad-cast to us might have some significance to me. I hear a lot about how we have to make sacrifices because of the tough economic times, but why should I do so when there's more money wasted just to tell us about stupid things like a woman that called the police because McDonald's was out of McNuggets? It's absurd, we are expected to follow the suggestions of the media that we tend to forget how uncynical we are.
The cake is a lie unless you choke on it and die. Enough said.
Word of the day: insidious
After a week off for spring break, we finally return to college. For some reason I feel very restless and drowsy as of late. I need to get my schedule back in order so I don't miss anymore class sessions and what not.
I've looked into different green creatures in Magic that are within the last couple of blocks to see if any would benefit my elf deck. I decided that while I wait to get what's necessary for the Elf Ball deck, I'll spend my time making a deck that will be just as annoying as what Elves should be. Look forward to my deck-list soon.
Take care.
Today's Word: extraneous
Well not really. I've said once before that I'd get over my procrastination syndrome (might as well call it that since I'm doing it profusely) and it has not been so successful. I tend to forget about making my post until either late at night or not at all and it drives me up the wall. So I'll make this post short and be certain to make my post in class next time so I don't forget anymore.
I'm still in that Strategy Club I mentioned last time and we're still signing away our souls to our hobbies/entertainment, but I digress, it is something to get me away from the sheer boredom of my dorm room after-class hours. Unfortunately, they have this meeting on Thursday alone so I'm sometimes in my room around 5pm with nothing more than my laptop and bed. I think another idea I have in mind to up my posting regiment is to find a new word I don't even know and post it with the thread so I can at least do that.
Word: incredulous
There. XD
On that note, have a good day. Peace.
During this last week, I've become a member of a Game Strategy Club at the college I'm attending. They do all sorts of gaming, from console to trading card games (Magic: The Gathering) and strategy war games (Warhammer). I am returning to playing Magic: The Gathering since I'm no longer a console gamer and I'm not spending well over $60-200 on one figurine for Warhammer (you need a lot of them for squadrons and such). I figured that it would get me away from doing the standard routine of class, eat, room, and sleep, which was beginning to get on my nerves.
I had to break back out my Elf deck to play Magic once again, however to my dismay, the deck is relatively slow by comparison to the new meta and expansions that have been released. The deck I used focused on high mana output to summon big creatures within a 3-4 turn period. However due to the high mana costs of the cards I'm using, sometimes I end up with deficits in my hand and nothing else to use to cast them into play; it's even worse when I can't keep up with other decks due to my lack of responses to cards my opponent uses to devastate me. Many of my cards are 1/1 Elves with low cost (apart from Elvish Piper which is 3G) but they become food for cards like Shinen of Life's Roar, which can cause any creature that is capable of blocking Shinen to do so, so unless you have First Strike, all the creatures' damage happens at once so many of my Elves would die and the Shinen would perish.
My plan... I'd have to put up with little cards like Shinen for a bit but I intend on created a true Elf deck and I'll go into more detail in the next post.
Oh, and with the club that I'm in, you must always sign in before the meeting starts so uh.. the Faustian Pact title is kinda funny (sign away your soul at each meeting, mwahahaha). D:
Anyhow, that'll do it. I'll talk with you all later. Peace.
Well I'm an honorary member of that club of people who always put stuff off until the last minute or never do it. This makes the second time I've lacked to do any post for the blog.. I feel like such a moron. And I even said I'd go into a long-winded post on Monday and I forgot. >.>
I'm going to find a new topic to discuss on Friday. This is a very short post today and it was overdo. I apologize for not keeping up with it, I'm such a fool. Well Friday's a new day and maybe if I can do that, I'll break free from the roster of the Procrastinators Union. D:
Along with today's internet phenomenon, I stumbled upon a recent video of a claim of catching a "ghost" on camera (You-Tube Search: Ghost Caught On Tape), and despite my useless knowledge on tricks that are pulled on-line, I decided to check it out. Now if you are like me then you'd expect something to show up and surprise you, I did; even though my expectations were high, I was not prepared in the least. When I watched this video, it was casual, TV running in the background (kinda threw in that Poltergeist feeling) and a rocking chair in the back. As I watched, nothing was happening until the rocking chair started a-rocking, that's when it's got you, you focus on that chair and then suddenly, that exorcism girl shows up out of no-where and startles the hell out of you! After that, I vowed to never trust my gut feeling even when I know something will happen as I predicted.
Since I'm going on about mysterious phenomenon, I'm gonna swap over to life phenomenon instead of the inner-workings of internet pranksters. I recently read up on a story about a burial vault known as the Chase Vault. To this day, the vault is vacant due to the unexplained occurances that took place; it was said that the coffins within the vault were moved from their original places several times over the years. It's a very interesting read so if you're into that kind of story, I'd suggest you look it up.
I don't know why I decided to make this post about phenomenon but I guess it could not be helped. I apologize profusely for the absence of my last post on Wednesday. On Monday, I will be discussing another random topic until I can find a long-winded topic for which to address to you all. Until next time.
Peace.
I'm dedicating the title of this post to Jason Hebert, he pulled a fast one on me a few minutes ago. I woke up 40 minutes ago (9:40a.m.) and I supposedly had a case of the Mondays1, I was completely out of it. I walked in and said "I am out of it, I didn't even know what today was" and he talked me through my "moment," so I'm a bit better off now.
"What's wrong with Monday?" he asked. Nothing's wrong with Monday, it's just one more day closer to the greatest day of our lives (whatever that maybe).
