The Faustian Pact of Nerdism (0)

11:42 PM by , under

During this last week, I've become a member of a Game Strategy Club at the college I'm attending. They do all sorts of gaming, from console to trading card games (Magic: The Gathering) and strategy war games (Warhammer). I am returning to playing Magic: The Gathering since I'm no longer a console gamer and I'm not spending well over $60-200 on one figurine for Warhammer (you need a lot of them for squadrons and such). I figured that it would get me away from doing the standard routine of class, eat, room, and sleep, which was beginning to get on my nerves.

I had to break back out my Elf deck to play Magic once again, however to my dismay, the deck is relatively slow by comparison to the new meta and expansions that have been released. The deck I used focused on high mana output to summon big creatures within a 3-4 turn period. However due to the high mana costs of the cards I'm using, sometimes I end up with deficits in my hand and nothing else to use to cast them into play; it's even worse when I can't keep up with other decks due to my lack of responses to cards my opponent uses to devastate me. Many of my cards are 1/1 Elves with low cost (apart from Elvish Piper which is 3G) but they become food for cards like Shinen of Life's Roar, which can cause any creature that is capable of blocking Shinen to do so, so unless you have First Strike, all the creatures' damage happens at once so many of my Elves would die and the Shinen would perish.

My plan... I'd have to put up with little cards like Shinen for a bit but I intend on created a true Elf deck and I'll go into more detail in the next post.

Oh, and with the club that I'm in, you must always sign in before the meeting starts so uh.. the Faustian Pact title is kinda funny (sign away your soul at each meeting, mwahahaha). D:

Anyhow, that'll do it. I'll talk with you all later. Peace.

Procrastinators Unite!! Tomorrow! (0)

3:08 PM by , under

Well I'm an honorary member of that club of people who always put stuff off until the last minute or never do it. This makes the second time I've lacked to do any post for the blog.. I feel like such a moron. And I even said I'd go into a long-winded post on Monday and I forgot. >.>

I'm going to find a new topic to discuss on Friday. This is a very short post today and it was overdo. I apologize for not keeping up with it, I'm such a fool. Well Friday's a new day and maybe if I can do that, I'll break free from the roster of the Procrastinators Union. D:

Expectations Aren't As Expected... (0)

11:19 PM by , under

Along with today's internet phenomenon, I stumbled upon a recent video of a claim of catching a "ghost" on camera (You-Tube Search: Ghost Caught On Tape), and despite my useless knowledge on tricks that are pulled on-line, I decided to check it out. Now if you are like me then you'd expect something to show up and surprise you, I did; even though my expectations were high, I was not prepared in the least. When I watched this video, it was casual, TV running in the background (kinda threw in that Poltergeist feeling) and a rocking chair in the back. As I watched, nothing was happening until the rocking chair started a-rocking, that's when it's got you, you focus on that chair and then suddenly, that exorcism girl shows up out of no-where and startles the hell out of you! After that, I vowed to never trust my gut feeling even when I know something will happen as I predicted.

Since I'm going on about mysterious phenomenon, I'm gonna swap over to life phenomenon instead of the inner-workings of internet pranksters. I recently read up on a story about a burial vault known as the Chase Vault. To this day, the vault is vacant due to the unexplained occurances that took place; it was said that the coffins within the vault were moved from their original places several times over the years. It's a very interesting read so if you're into that kind of story, I'd suggest you look it up.

I don't know why I decided to make this post about phenomenon but I guess it could not be helped. I apologize profusely for the absence of my last post on Wednesday. On Monday, I will be discussing another random topic until I can find a long-winded topic for which to address to you all. Until next time.

Peace.

"What's Wrong With Monday?" (0)

10:05 AM by , under

I'm dedicating the title of this post to Jason Hebert, he pulled a fast one on me a few minutes ago. I woke up 40 minutes ago (9:40a.m.) and I supposedly had a case of the Mondays1, I was completely out of it. I walked in and said "I am out of it, I didn't even know what today was" and he talked me through my "moment," so I'm a bit better off now.

"What's wrong with Monday?" he asked. Nothing's wrong with Monday, it's just one more day closer to the greatest day of our lives (whatever that maybe).

A New Name For A New Image... (0)

9:57 PM by , under

If it has not been made known by now, you must be blind.. but I finally managed to add the LineTech template I wanted to the blog. It suits the kind of unique approach to web development that I admire so dearly and wish to pursue.

On top of that, I have also changed my posting name to my casual user-name on message boards and other locales and the name of the weblog itself. The name Kadiful Kadmon was one I developed a year ago when I was hooked on the F2P (free to play) MMORPG, Perfect World, but it slowly became a staple name for my internet surfing. And as for the weblog, I think that the approach to blogging is not just another way to vent your own interests but to lend your voice to a number of topics that others are interested in, hense the "fatidical" (prophetic) in the name.

Hopefully I've subscribed to all the other classmates' blogs by now and if not, I'll keep looking until some pop up on the other blogs so I would add myself to their followers, and vice-versa.

Well, until next time, peace.

I've begun to look at the many blogger template web sites to locate a unique style that fits my personality or interest. So far, my search has come in the form of LineTech, a design by Falcon Hive, however, I've had complications getting it to work right. I downloaded the template to use the pre-hosted images but the problem is somewhere in the scripts. I attempted to copy the source of their example page and weed out all of the unnecessary code to mirror, possibly, a better source of that template to use. So far, it has been in vain.

I nearly forgot to make this post, it somehow evaded me even as I was attempting to correct the errors of the template. I was watching the television shows that air late at night, 10:00-11:00, and I was ready for bed but then I realized that I haven't blogged. How fortuitous for me to make this post only 37 minutes before 12:00 a.m., might be different by the time set by Blogger but I am going by my laptop's clock.

Well, it's finally time for me to sleep. Maybe next time, I'll stick to doing it in class instead of being so forgetful.

Until next time.... peace!

I don't know where that quote came from but unless you don't enjoy doing a critical hit to a monster in any game, you'll remember this one. Pardon the little niche' game quote but I tend to do that from time to time and since I like gaming, expect to see more in the future.

I'm expected to see Dave and Bridget again on Wednesday because they canceled the picture shoot last Wednesday without informing anyone; that goes to show you, even an organized institution can do something stupid once in a while.

I have been watching some of the Earthbound video walk-throughs that someone posted on You-Tube and it got me psyched to play that game again. Earthbound was about back in the early '90s for the Super Nintendo and it was a really detailed game back then. It had a really really good musical soundtrack and it's highly recommended that you go look it up and play it, if you can find the cartridge (Ebay Is Your Second Best Friend, Next To Google).

~Peace... Out!!!
